Fairphone has introduced a new generation of USB cables and fast chargers, raising the bar for durability, sustainability, and universal compatibility. The brand’s latest collection features two advanced models in both the cable and charger categories. Notably, the USB-C 3.2 Long Life Charging & Data Cable boasts power delivery up to 240W, rapid data transfer rates up to 20Gbps, and an integrated, detachable USB-A adapter for compatibility with both modern and legacy devices. This cable surpasses industry standards, passing over 100,000 bend tests, and is constructed with more than 55% fair and recycled materials. Its three-year warranty and 100% e-waste neutrality reinforce Fairphone’s commitment to long-term value and ethical manufacturing.

The chargers have also undergone significant improvements. The new 65W Triple-Port Fast Charger, equipped with dual USB-C and one USB-A port, can simultaneously power three devices, including laptops, with robust safety features such as short circuit and temperature control. Both the 65W and the compact 30W GaN charger are LONGTIME® certified, crafted from 100% recycled plastics, and assembled in factories using green energy where workers are paid a living wage. These chargers are designed to support a wide range of charging protocols, ensuring optimal performance across various brands and devices, and eliminating the need for multiple chargers.

Product manager Gregor Volk explains that this overhaul was driven by a desire to further enhance both technical and ethical standards. Fairphone’s team prioritised maximising recycled content and durability, while ensuring manufacturing conditions remained fair. The new cables and chargers now set a fresh industry benchmark, lasting up to ten years, supporting the latest power and data standards, and dramatically reducing electronic waste.
