Swappie announces two million customers

Swappie, the prominent European company specialising in the purchase and sale of refurbished iPhones, announced reaching two million customers. This achievement, alongside a turnover of 207.3 million euros in the previous year, underscores the increasing consumer trust in refurbished products and solidifies Swappie’s leadership in the market. The company’s success highlights the growing significance of the refurbished device market and Swappie’s dedication to advancing the circular economy. By facilitating the sale of old iPhones through its online platform, Swappie offers consumers a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to buying new devices.

In 2024, Swappie secured a €17 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) under the InvestEU Programme. This strategic funding is intended to enhance robotic research, development, and automation processes, aiming to make the refurbishment process even more efficient and reliable. The investment from the EIB reaffirms Swappie’s commitment to delivering high-quality refurbished devices and expanding its support for the circular economy.

Emma Lehikoinen, Chief Operating Officer at Swappie, emphasised the company’s dedication to making refurbishment a mainstream option. By implementing a focused strategy and targeted investments, Swappie aims to create a lasting positive impact across all its markets. Their online buyback service facilitates the easy sale of old iPhones, giving these devices a new life and making high-quality refurbished electronics accessible to all households. This initiative not only cuts down on electronic waste but also aligns with Swappie’s vision of promoting a circular economy.
