Envirofone data shows Iphone air losing value fast

Envirofone’s latest trade‑in analysis reveals that the iPhone Air is depreciating far more sharply than comparable iPhone models, with average resale values dropping by more than 44 per cent just ten weeks after launch. High‑capacity versions have been hit hardest, with the 1TB model losing nearly half its original price.

The figures place the Air well behind the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max ranges, which are holding their value significantly better despite being in the same release window. Envirofone says the trend reflects buyer hesitation around the Air’s ultra‑thin design, particularly concerns over durability, battery longevity and repairability, factors that strongly influence second‑hand pricing in the circular economy.

Industry analysts note that the steep decline is specific to the Air rather than a sign of wider market weakness. For refurbishers and trade‑in providers, the data underscores the importance of cautious early pricing for new form‑factor devices where long‑term resilience and repair costs remain uncertain.
