Back Market adds repair platform to accelerate circular growth

Back Market, the French marketplace specialising in premium refurbished electronics, is launching a repair service to power its next phase of expansion. The announcement follows record momentum: new users jumped 36% in the second quarter, and the company expects gross merchandise value to surpass €3 billion in 2025.

Founded in Paris in 2014, Back Market now counts 17 million customers across 17 countries, with the United States established as its second‑largest market. The platform also continues to grow by more than 10% in its home market of France, underscoring broadening consumer adoption of circular tech.

By adding repairs alongside refurbishment, Back Market strengthens its circular proposition, extending device lifecycles, cutting electronic waste and offering more cost‑effective alternatives to buying new. The repair service is designed to complement its existing marketplace, giving customers greater choice and convenience while reinforcing sustainability credentials.
