Blocket, a Swedish marketplace, has joined Amazon in offering “renewed” refurbished electronics, including smartphones, from third-party vendors. Both platforms have stringent quality standards for companies wishing to sell refurbished devices, ensuring a reliable purchasing experience for customers.
While refurbished phones on these marketplaces might come with a slightly higher price tag compared to those from private sellers, the professional refurbishment process offers a safer and more secure option for consumers. Blocket, part of the Schibsted Marketplaces, promotes this under the term “Nybegagnat,” meaning “New but second hand,” and is enticing customers with a 5% discount on these products.
Amazon.se’s lead, Gulfem Toygar accentuated on the geagraphy’s situation by stating that “Swedes’ household budgets are under pressure, and we see that interest in buying used products is increasing among our customers”
Amazon provides a 90-day return policy and a one-year guarantee on refurbished products, while Blocket steps up with a two-year guarantee, albeit with a shorter 30-day return window. These policies reflect the commitment of both companies to customer satisfaction and product reliability in the refurbished electronics market.
To recall, Amazon’s regulations for refurbished products imply that “Each product must be inspected, repaired (if applicable), cleaned and tested to meet cosmetic and functional standards … Any potential refurbishing operation will only use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. Such parts can be new or refurbished to a like-new condition. No signs of cosmetic damage (such as scratches, dents) should be noticeable when the product is held 12 inches or 30 centimeters away … If you break the rules you can lose right to be an Amazon Seller”.
