Flip.ro, a proponent of the circular economy in Romania, has reported a significant sales increase to €56.4 million in 2023, marking a 46% growth from the previous year. The platform has attracted over 400,000 customers and partnered with more than 14,000 companies, offering refurbished electronics that support sustainable consumption.
Expanding its reach, Flip.ro has successfully entered the Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Greek markets, contributing to 35% of its total sales. The company’s centralised refurbishment operations in Bucharest ensure quality service across these regions. Additionally, Flip.ro has diversified its product range by introducing tablets, generating over €1 million in sales, and plans to launch laptops and smartwatches in 2024.
George Moroianu, co-founder and CEO of Flip.ro commented on the group’s growth, stating that “…need more space and more specialists to include, in the future, new product categories” and emphasised that “…we will sell only Apple products in the first phase and diversify the available brands from the portfolio later. We plan to launch the two new categories later this summer. We want Flip users to be able to purchase Macbooks and Apple Watches as part of the Back to School campaign in addition to the current categories – phones and tablets”.
Founded in 2019 by Alin Luca, Alex Burghelia, and George Moroianu, Flip.ro joined the eMAG group in 2021, receiving an €8 million investment. The company assures customer satisfaction with a minimum 12-month warranty, a 30-day return policy, and dedicated customer support for all purchases.
