Foxway and Samsung Electronics Germany have announced an enhanced partnership designed to raise the bar for refurbished Samsung devices. Building on a successful history of collaboration in trade-in and rental services, the two companies are now focused on delivering premium-quality refurbished smartphones to the European market. This expanded cooperation aligns with their shared goal of promoting sustainability and circularity in the mobile industry.
Under this renewed partnership, Foxway will adhere to Samsung’s stringent refurbishment standards, using genuine Samsung spare parts and following meticulous repair protocols. Technicians will also undergo regular training to maintain high standards and ensure consistent quality. By combining Foxway’s expertise in recommerce with Samsung’s original parts and repair guidelines, the collaboration aims to set a new benchmark for second-life devices, offering customers reliable and durable refurbished smartphones.
Mikkel Frid, President of Recommerce Mobiles at Foxway, highlighted the significance of this partnership by stating, “Circular tech is only effective when it meets high standards of quality, reliability, and accessibility” and that together with Samsung, they are ensuring that refurbished devices meet industry-leading quality expectations. This initiative not only enhances the lifespan of Samsung products but also reinforces the importance of sustainability by adhering to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive and reusing components wherever possible.
Samsung Electronics Germany’s Vice President Service, Andreas Beck, emphasised the importance of collaboration in driving innovation in circularity. He noted, “Circularity in the mobile industry requires strong partnerships. By working closely with Foxway, we’re ensuring that more devices get a second life without compromising on quality or user experience.” This partnership represents a broader industry trend of fostering cooperation between recommerce companies and original manufacturers, paving the way for a sustainable and responsible secondary market in mobile technology.
