Foxway’s 10,000 m2 expansion in Estonia

Foxway has announced a significant expansion at its flagship technology centre in Tartu, Estonia, bringing all its operations and support functions under one roof for the first time. The project, which will see an additional 10,000 square metres added to the existing Põhjaringi site, is expected to streamline activities that have previously been split across two separate buildings. This move reflects Foxway’s commitment to greater efficiency, automation, and future-proofing its infrastructure to align with its long-term strategic ambitions.

As a prominent provider of circular technology solutions, Foxway resold close to 2.8 million electronic devices in 2024. The company operates six technology centres across Europe and anticipates processing over five million devices through its Tartu facility alone within the next five years. The expansion, due for completion by the end of 2027, will increase the site’s total area to 16,890 square metres, providing a scalable and sustainable base for continued growth and innovation.

The decision to consolidate operations at Põhjaringi addresses several challenges, including the need for costly upgrades to one of the current buildings and logistical inefficiencies caused by the split-site arrangement. The new facility will build on Foxway’s expertise in automation, exemplified by its recently introduced automated warehouse system, and will be designed with high standards of energy efficiency, accessibility, and employee wellbeing in mind. Features such as full wheelchair access, enhanced bicycle and scooter parking, and extra electric vehicle charging points will be included to support staff and visitors.

Chief Executive Patrick Höijer emphasised the strategic importance of this development, describing the Tartu site as central to Foxway’s mission in circular technology. He highlighted that uniting all teams in a single, modern facility will not only improve workflow and reduce internal transport times, but also foster better collaboration and communication. The expanded tech centre will reinforce Foxway’s reputation for operational excellence and reliability, while supporting its continued leadership in sustainable technology lifecycle management.
