Huawei unveils refurbished Pocket 2

Huawei has introduced an official refurbished version of its Pocket 2 foldable smartphone, offering the premium device at a significantly reduced cost. By bringing a certified second-life model directly to market, the company is signalling stronger support for refurbishment as a mainstream sales channel rather than a secondary afterthought.

The move reflects wider shifts in consumer behaviour, particularly in markets where price sensitivity and sustainability awareness are rising. Refurbished flagship handsets allow buyers to access high-end design and performance without the environmental impact associated with manufacturing a brand-new device. For foldables in particular, extending product cycles could have a meaningful effect given the resource intensity of their production.

By backing its renewed models with official support, Huawei is helping to normalise refurbished technology as a credible and reliable option. In doing so, it contributes to a circular model in which devices are kept in circulation for longer, reducing waste while broadening access to advanced mobile technology.
