Recommerce Group and Euronics have entered into a European partnership to encourage trade-in and resale of refurbished devices, starting in March 2025. The collaboration spans several key markets, including Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland. By combining Recommerce’s expertise in refurbishment with Euronics’ extensive retail presence, the initiative aims to make sustainable technology more accessible to consumers.
Under this agreement, Euronics customers can now trade in their old devices for compensation, either in-store or online, thanks to Recommerce’s ready-to-use trade-in solution. This service not only boosts customers’ purchasing power but also helps reduce electronic waste by giving used devices a second life. Alongside trade-in, Euronics’ network now offers a broad selection of high-quality refurbished smartphones, all of which undergo thorough checks and come with a two-year warranty.
John Olsen, CEO of Euronics International, highlights that sustainability is central to the company’s ethos, with trade-in schemes playing a key role in prolonging the use of electronic products, benefiting both customers and the environment. Augustin Becquet, CEO of Recommerce, adds that since 2009, Recommerce has worked to advance the circular economy by collaborating with like-minded partners, and teaming up with a major retailer like Euronics demonstrates their shared dedication to offering more responsible choices throughout Europe.
This partnership allows Recommerce to reach a wider audience by tapping into Euronics’ large consumer base. It strengthens both companies’ commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, offering practical solutions as electronic waste continues to grow globally. By integrating trade-in and resale programmes, the collaboration supports more responsible consumption of technology across Europe.
The partnership is also expanding, with plans to introduce MacBook and PC trade-in services in Italy. With more consumers seeking affordable and eco-friendly alternatives, and a majority now open to refurbished devices, Recommerce and Euronics are well-positioned to meet this rising demand while making a positive impact on the environment.
