In June 2024, refurbed is set to broaden its reach by launching in Belgium, Finland, Portugal, and the Czech Republic, advancing its mission to be Europe’s premier destination for refurbished goods. This expansion will mark refurbed’s presence in eleven European countries, reinforcing its commitment to promoting sustainable consumption.
Since its inception in Austria and Germany in 2017, refurbed has steadily grown, extending services to Italy, Ireland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The new markets will initially enjoy a selection of refurbished consumer electronics, including in-demand smartphones, laptops, and tablets from top brands. Over time, refurbed plans to diversify its offerings to include a wider array of electronic products, lifestyle items, and sporting goods, catering to various aspects of life and work.
Refurbed’s CEO, Peter Windischhofer expressed the group’s circular objective, stating that “The high demand for our range of refurbished products and excellent customer service in the Benelux region as well as in the northern and southern European countries convinced us to expand these market regions on the basis of evidence- and data-based analysis. I am particularly pleased that with our market entry in the Czech Republic we are also entering the Eastern European market for the first time. According to our analysis, there is immense potential here”. He went on saying that “The broad electronics market is increasingly shifting towards the acceptance of sustainability in consumer decisions. We can observe this development in all of our European markets in which we are currently active. It is therefore only logical for us to enter further markets in Europe step by step and thus promote the circular economy globally”.
