Fnac Darty sees revenue growth

Fnac Darty has reported its first financial results following the acquisition of Italian retailer Unieuro, revealing a combined revenue of EUR 10.54 billion for 2024. Excluding Unieuro, the company generated EUR 2.69 billion in the fourth quarter, marking a year-on-year growth of 0.8% compared to a slight decline in the previous quarter. This growth reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable practices, particularly in the areas of refurbishment and repair.

A significant contributor to this growth has been the rise in subscription services for repairs, such as Darty Max and Vanden Borre Life, which now serve 1.4 million customers. This increase from 1.1 million at the end of 2023 highlights a growing consumer interest in maintaining and repairing devices rather than replacing them. Additionally, the average revenue per user for these services saw a 5% annual increase, indicating a successful engagement strategy.

In 2024, Fnac Darty also noted positive trends in the consumer electronics sector, with a notable resurgence in demand for various tech products, including AI laptops and virtual reality devices. Their Second Life initiative, focusing on refurbished products, achieved nearly EUR 150 million in gross merchandise value, demonstrating the effectiveness of sustainable business practices. Looking ahead, Fnac Darty aims for continued growth in operating income and will unveil a new strategic plan in June to further enhance its commitment to sustainability.
