Ceconomy, the parent company of MediaMarkt and Saturn, has reported higher revenue and profit for the 2024/25 financial year and is now steering the business towards becoming a full “omnichannel service company”. With more than a quarter of its sales already generated online, the group says the shift reflects changing consumer behaviour and strengthens its position ahead of the planned takeover by JD.com.
Annual revenue rose 5.7% to €23.1 billion, with the final quarter contributing a strong €5.5 billion. Profitability also continued to improve, marking the eleventh consecutive quarter of adjusted EBIT growth. The company says this momentum supports its ambition to combine retail, digital services and customer support into a seamless, integrated model across Europe.
Ceconomy believes that expanding services, from repairs and installations to after‑sales support, will differentiate the group in a competitive electronics market and help secure long‑term customer loyalty. The strategic shift also aligns with broader industry trends, where retailers are blending e‑commerce, physical stores and subscription‑based services to drive sustainable growth.
