Refurbed reaches €2 billion milestone in GMV

Refurbed has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing €2 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV) since its founding. The company, which focuses on offering high-quality refurbished technology, sports equipment, and household goods, is redefining sustainable consumption by creating a middle ground between new and used products. This milestone reflects the growing consumer shift toward environmentally conscious choices and highlights the success of Refurbed’s mission to make sustainability a cornerstone of modern living.

Key drivers of this growth include the sale of more than four million refurbished products in Germany alone, 64% brand recognition in Austria, and the company’s expansion into new product categories, such as Baby & Kids. Refurbed’s reach now spans multiple European countries, including Italy, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Portugal, and beyond. By scaling its operations and broadening its offerings, the company is making refurbished products an increasingly attractive and accessible option for consumers across Europe.

Peter Windischhofer, co-founder of Refurbed, emphasised the importance of this milestone in advancing sustainability. “Since 2017, our mission has been to make consumption more sustainable. Reaching 2 billion euros proves that consumers are ready for change by choosing refurbished over new is becoming the norm!” he stated. Refurbed’s rapid growth demonstrates the rising demand for eco-friendly alternatives, and the company remains committed to reducing environmental impact by extending the lifespan of products. As Refurbed continues to expand and innovate, it is paving the way for a more sustainable future while empowering consumers to make greener choices.
