Virgin Media O2 Business has unveiled two new tools to help businesses achieve their ESG goals: the Carbon Calculator and the Tech Donation Programme. The Carbon Calculator is a tool that enables business and telecom leaders to track the carbon emissions of their suppliers’ products, addressing the progress on their Net Zero goals. The ‘Tech Donation Programme’ on the other hand, enables partners to contribute to digital inclusion and gives Virgin Media O2 Business customers the opportunity to donate free refurbished devices to those in need.

Jo Bertram, Managing Director at Virgin Media O2 Business emphasised on the benefits of this development by stating that “Organisations are looking for transparency and support from their suppliers to reach social and environmental goals, and technology can be a useful tool for this progression”.

This new mechanism is a result of the collaboration between Virgin Media O2 and two sustainability experts, Carbon Trust and Hubbub. Tom Cumberlege, the Director of Carbon Trust, highlighted upon the “Greater transparency and access to credible data are fundamental steps in the Net Zero transition”, outlining the main aspects of the tool. 

Emily Watson, Senior Creative Partner at Hubbub, stressed their aim to encourage actions that have positive social and environmental impacts and that enable organisations to extend their ESG efforts beyond their own boundaries.
