Back Market is set to undergo its first leadership transition since its launch in 2014, with Chief Financial Officer Clément Petit taking over as CEO on September 1. Founder Thibaud Hug de Larauze will remain involved in the business as Executive Chairman.
Petit joined the refurbished electronics marketplace in 2020 and played a key role in guiding the company to profitability, first in Europe in 2024 and then globally in 2025.
The leadership change comes as Back Market enters a new stage of expansion. The company, valued at €5.1 billion, reported annual revenue of €440 million in 2025 and processed €3 billion in transactions, representing 32% year-on-year growth.
Looking ahead, Back Market aims to accelerate the adoption of refurbished electronics worldwide and further expand its business beyond online sales. The company recently announced plans to open physical stores in France and the United States, while also launching repair services to strengthen its position across the circular electronics value chain.
Today, Back Market operates in 17 countries and employs more than 700 people across Europe, North America and Asia.
