Cellnex has earned a spot on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe (DJSI Europe)

Cellnex has achieved a significant milestone by being recognized in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe (DJSI Europe), a prominent global ESG benchmark. Notably, Cellnex is the first and only telecommunications infrastructure operator included in this index, making its mark not only in Europe but also on a global scale. The company secured 91 points in the environmental dimension, leading the sector, along with strong scores of 78 in the social dimension and 75 in the economic and corporate governance dimension.

S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) invited over 13,000 companies to participate, with Cellnex emerging as a standout performer. Only 10% of companies with the highest scores in each sector are selected for the DJSI, and Cellnex joins an elite group that includes Deutsche Telekom, KPN, Telecom Italia, and Telefónica in the telecommunications sector.

Marco Patuano, CEO of Cellnex, expressed the significance of this achievement, ‘’This is a major achievement for Cellnex and its sustainability policy and execution. For first time since we went public back in 2015, the company has been recognized as a brand-new member of DJSI Europe. This positions Cellnex within the premier league among Sustainability best performers in Europe and is a direct outcome of the consistent and committed teamwork in the different areas of our group who are implementing and deploying our ESG Master Plan.’’

Cellnex’s inclusion in DJSI Europe aligns with its broader presence in major international sustainability indices, such as CDP, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good, MSCI, and the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index. The continuous progress demonstrated by companies in these indices plays a crucial role in their eligibility for investment portfolios that increasingly prioritize non-financial factors. The new composition of the DJSI Europe will become effective on December 18.
