Converge sets new standard for remanufactured IT hardware

Converge Technology Solutions has achieved a significant milestone in sustainable IT by securing the BSI Kitemark for the remanufacturing of computing equipment. The certification, held by only a small number of organisations, provides independent assurance that remanufactured devices can deliver reliability and performance comparable to brand‑new products, helping to build confidence in second‑life technology.

In addition to the remanufacturing recognition, the Staffordshire‑based firm has also been awarded the BSI Kitemark for refurbishment, making it the first UK value‑added reseller and IT recycling operation with fully domestic facilities to hold both accreditations. The standards distinguish between full remanufacture, which restores equipment to an as‑new condition, and refurbishment, which offers a verified quality second life for a broader range of devices.

The achievement reflects Converge’s investment in advanced restoration processes carried out entirely in the UK, reducing transport distances and associated emissions. By combining rigorous quality controls with a strong sustainability focus, Converge is helping public sector and enterprise buyers adopt reused technology with greater confidence, supporting the wider shift towards a circular economy in IT.
