Cyculus has launched as Europe’s first independent, fully automated “Device Processing as a Service” (DPaaS) provider, partnering with Apkudo to enhance its operations. This innovative service model aims to transform the processing of pre-owned mobile devices, offering unparalleled precision, consistency, and scalability. By leveraging Apkudo’s Circular Industry Platform, Cyculus addresses the growing demand for high-quality secondary phones with advanced AI-powered technology.

The DPaaS model introduced by Cyculus fills a critical gap in the tech industry, enabling customers to process devices quickly and efficiently, regardless of volume. With the ability to handle as few as 500 units per month, the service ensures fast turnaround times and high consistency. Customers can also customise their processing profiles to meet specific needs, benefiting from Apkudo’s proven technology for both Apple and Android devices.

Robotic processing is central to Cyculus’s mission of extending the lifecycle of mobile devices, thereby reducing environmental impact. By efficiently processing used phones, the service decreases the demand for new devices, promoting sustainability. Initially focusing on mobile devices, Cyculus plans to expand its services to include tablets, wearables, and IT equipment, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable tech industry. The company is set to begin operations with its first customers in Q4 2024, heralding a new era in device processing.

Fergal Donovan, CEO and Co-Founder of Cyculus, emphasised the company’s dedication to innovation, automation, and recirculation, highlighting Apkudo as the perfect partner to set and deliver new industry standards. Together, they plan to establish a state-of-the-art European Centre of Excellence in Germany, showcasing the latest advancements in device processing and enhancement. Josh Matthews, CEO and Co-Founder of Apkudo, expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that Cyculus will leverage Apkudo’s current and future products to provide comprehensive Device Processing as a Service. He added that Apkudo’s AI, robotics, and platform capabilities will help Cyculus and its customers make informed device decisions based on reliable data.
