Lenovo extends sustainability across its ecosystem

Lenovo is expanding its sustainability efforts beyond its own operations by working with partners throughout its downstream ecosystem. Through its Lenovo 360 Circle initiative, the company brings together around 850 members across 68 countries, creating a network focused on embedding more sustainable practices throughout the technology value chain.

A major element of this approach is the transition towards more circular technology models. Working with channel partners can help businesses improve how devices are managed throughout their lifecycle, including opportunities for repair, refurbishment, reuse and responsible end-of-life treatment. This is particularly relevant as organisations look for ways to reduce the environmental impact of their IT estates without compromising performance.

The downstream ecosystem also has an important role to play in ensuring that devices retain value after their first period of use. Rather than treating hardware as disposable once it is replaced, businesses can recover equipment, assess its condition and redirect suitable products towards secondary users. This can reduce e-waste while limiting the need for additional raw materials and manufacturing.

For Lenovo, collaboration is therefore becoming an important part of its sustainability strategy. Building circularity into relationships with distributors, resellers and other technology partners can help scale responsible IT practices across multiple markets and contribute to a more resource-efficient technology industry.
