Vivo makes flagship smartphones available through refurbishment

Vivo has introduced refurbished versions of its X300 FE and X300 Ultra smartphones, providing consumers with a lower-cost route into its premium device range. The refurbished models are being offered through vivo’s official sales channels, showing how manufacturers can incorporate second-life products directly into their retail strategies rather than relying solely on third-party resale markets.

The approach is particularly relevant for extending the lifespan of high-specification smartphones. Instead of devices leaving the market once their first owner upgrades, refurbished models can be returned to consumers who are looking for flagship-level cameras, processing power and battery performance at a lower price.

Manufacturer-backed refurbishment can also strengthen confidence in the second-hand market by giving consumers a recognised source for previously used devices. As more brands develop official channels for refurbished products, the smartphone industry has an opportunity to shift from a predominantly new-device sales model towards one where reuse, refurbishment and longer product lifecycles become a more established part of the market.
