Based in Vienna, Enery is a renewable energy company that has agreed to supply 70,000 MWh of green energy annually in Romania to entities related to the local division of French telecoms group Orange SA.

With Orange Romania, Orange Romania Communications and NextGen Communications, part of the Orange Romania Group, Enery has entered into two virtual power purchase arrangements (vPPAs). The contracts feature a cutting-edge virtual cross-border PPA, a fresh approach in the Eastern European region, the Austrian company stated in a recent announcement.

In the previous year, Orange Romania Group entered into a six-year agreement with French energy company Engie to purchase solar power through a virtual power purchase arrangement (VPPA), ensuring 30 gigawatt-hours of green energy every year.
