Rebuy’s annual turnover escalated to €216 million last year

Last year, the recommerce platform Rebuy, based in Germany, recorded a turnover of €216 million. The company also announced its profitability for the consecutive fifth year. The platform facilitated the resale of around 10 million products, effectively extending their lifecycle. Rebuy operates across several European countries, including Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, and Great Britain. Notably, in 2022, the company’s sales surpassed the €200 million mark for the first time.

The company’s performance last year suggests expansion, even against the backdrop of Germany’s e-commerce slump, which saw an 11.8% drop in online sales from the previous year. Rebuy sold close to 10 million items, with consumer electronics accounting for over half a million. Of the 300,000 refurbished devices, 215,000 were smartphones. Rebuy’s team of roughly 650 staff members works out of a highly robotised main facility near Berlin.

The group’s CEO Philipp Gattner underlines that “The great thing about our products is that price savings and sustainability go hand in hand. Because every device we give a second life not only protects your wallet, but also the environment: in 2023, transactions via Rebuy alone recycled more than 200 tons of electronic resources and saved more than nine billion liters of water”.
