IT asset disposal firm Reconome has partnered with the Good Things Foundation in a long‑term initiative to provide 85,000 refurbished devices to digitally excluded people across the UK over the next three years. The collaboration aims to move beyond short‑term donations towards a steady, reliable supply of technology for communities most in need.
Devices including laptops, tablets and smartphones will be distributed through the National Device Bank, which supports local organisations helping people gain access to the digital world. The programme builds on an earlier pilot and responds to ongoing challenges around access to technology, which remains a barrier to education, employment and essential public services.
By sourcing equipment from businesses and restoring it for reuse, the partnership combines social impact with environmental benefits. The initiative supports national digital inclusion objectives while reducing electronic waste, demonstrating how circular economy models can deliver both community and sustainability outcomes.
