Responding to rising consumer interest in affordable, sustainable tech and increasing regulatory momentum around the circular economy, Recommerce Group—Europe’s long-established specialist in trade-in, trade-up, refurbishment and resale—and LiftForward, a global leader in technology subscription and upgrade platforms, have entered into an exclusive agreement to jointly develop and operate Forward Trade-In (FTI) and device-upgrade programs throughout Europe.
The collaboration combines Recommerce’s extensive operational know-how and strong European market footprint with LiftForward’s advanced technology infrastructure, creating a unified, end-to-end FTI and upgrade solution tailored for retailers, mobile operators and OEMs.
LiftForward brings more than a decade of experience in building and powering subscription, upgrade and financing models for the world’s leading brands. Its platform is already deployed globally through exclusive OEM relationships, offering seamless customer enrollment, lender integrations, trade-in capabilities and full lifecycle management for complex partner ecosystems.
Recommerce, meanwhile, contributes over 15 years of dedication to the circular economy and processes more than 1.2 million devices per year. The company is a trusted partner for major European telecom operators and retailers, and currently manages over 10 advanced FTI and upgrade programs across the region.
Under the new agreement, LiftForward will designate Recommerce as the exclusive buyback partner for all products processed through its platform in Europe. This gives European partners two major advantages: immediate access to a fully integrated, turnkey FTI and upgrade solution, and the assurance of optimal residual values supported by transparent and efficient buyback operations. This joint offering is designed to help millions of consumers upgrade to newer technology in a more cost-effective and environmentally responsible way.
Additionally, Recommerce will serve as the exclusive distributor of the LiftForward platform within Europe, handling all refurbishment activities and enabling retailers and operators to launch next-generation device-lifecycle programs with far less technical and operational complexity.
Jeffrey Rogers, Founder & CEO of LiftForward, commented:
“Formalizing this strategic alliance with Recommerce is an exciting next step. By bringing together LiftForward’s decade-proven technology platform and global OEM ecosystem—including partners such as Microsoft and financial institutions like BNP Paribas Personal Finance—with Recommerce’s operational strength and deep telco relationships, we can meaningfully accelerate FTI, upgrade and circular-economy initiatives throughout Europe.”
Augustin Becquet, CEO of Recommerce, added:
“We are delighted to seal this partnership, which will significantly accelerate the expansion of our upgrade programs. Combining our full operational expertise with LiftForward’s platform provides a comprehensive European upgrade solution for all retail and telecom clients.”
